The main goal of the event is to present the concept of the International Festival of Youth 2026 to the international youth community as a practical tool for implementing the youth agenda in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals. Specifically, to demonstrate the role of youth initiatives in forming partnerships and strengthening global cooperation, which directly relates to SDG 17 on uniting the efforts of the state, civil society, and youth.
An analysis of the Q&A session held at the UN ECOSOC Youth Forum 2025 confirmed the high interest of foreign youth in Russian programs and projects (over 90% of the questions received). During the upcoming session at the UN ECOSOC Youth Forum, the current side event will present the concept of 2026 the International Festival of Youth, which will take place in September in the city of Ekaterinburg. The Festival will bring together 10,000 young leaders from 190 countries 5,000 from Russia and 5,000 from foreign states, representing 8 fields of activity. The Festival aims to become a platform for open dialogue, where youth representatives can develop joint initiatives to addressing global challenges.
