(Day 1) UNIS-UN International Student Conference: The Price of Progress: Rethinking the Next Fifth Years of Global Economy.
The 50th Annual UNIS‑UN Conference, titled "The Price of Progress: Rethinking the Next 50 Years of Global Economics," will take place on 17–18 March 2026 in the United Nations General Assembly Hall.
Organized by the United Nations International School (UNIS), the conference was founded in 1976 by UNIS teacher Sylvia Gordon and has since grown into the largest student‑run conference held at the UN, bringing together more than 600 students from around the world each year. This year's programme will explore how global economic systems are evolving amid technological change, shifting labor markets, and the pressures of sustainability. Through student‑led debates, expert speakers, presentations, and panel discussions, the conference invites high school students to examine the forces shaping prosperity, inequality, and cooperation in the decades ahead.
